Overview

Nestled in the vibrant 11th arrondissement of Paris, 21G Dumpling is a dim sum haven that captures the essence of traditional Asian flavors with a subtle modern touch. Located on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, this compact yet inviting spot offers an authentic experience for lovers of delicate dumplings and innovative bites.

The true star here is undeniably the Xiao Long Bao Porc Gingembre. Praised as the best soup dumplings some have ever tasted, these are crafted with precision, balancing a rich, savory broth inside tender, thin dough. This dish evokes memories of classic Shanghai street food, transporting diners straight to the heart of a bustling Chinese alley with each bite. Beyond the dumplings, the menu showcases an adventurous range of flavors—from the crispy yet juicy Poulet Frit Façon Taïwanaise to the sweet and nutty Hong Kong Egg Waffle with Sauce Gianduja. Each plate is thoughtfully composed, merging authenticity with inventive culinary flourishes.

The dining space complements the culinary journey well. It offers a cozy and somewhat chic environment reminiscent of hidden alleyway eateries in Asia, providing an intimate setting for food enthusiasts and curious locals alike. The staff contributes to the atmosphere with friendly and attentive service, helping guests navigate the menu with ease and enthusiasm.

While the portions lean towards modest, the harmony of flavors crafted with quality ingredients makes every dish memorable. Some guests have noted minor inconsistencies—such as a slight blandness in certain noodle preparations and occasional delays in dish arrivals—but the overall impression remains strong. For those looking for a genuine dim sum experience in Paris, 21G Dumpling serves as a culinary gem.

Targeting diners who appreciate authentic, well-executed Asian cuisine with subtle hints of modernity, this establishment is perfect for both seasoned fans of dim sum and newcomers eager to explore nuanced flavors. If you seek a blend of tradition and innovation in a warm, unpretentious setting, 21G Dumpling is a must-visit destination.

The soup dumplings were delicious and authentic - not easy to find in Europe. The fried chicken, while more of a fusion take, was also delicious and super tender - overall good value too! The only dish that was a let down was the noodles - the sauce was super bland and the noodles’ textures were poor

Tasty dishes, a little bit small in portions. Tastes are very well harmonized and innovative. My only complaint is that one of our main dishes arrived about 10 minutes later than the other one.

Pretty cool place for close to authentic dumplings. They are obviously well made and full of quality ingredients. The one downside was the food was somewhat bland. Could have used a kick of hot sauce or peppers. Maybe that's how they do it for local tastes. Neat atmosphere in the back.

We came to this place after reading the reviews and I have to agree with many of them. They have a small menu but everything was delicious! We ordered multiple items and all of them were tasty. The duck BAO had lots of meat and full of flavors while I pork SIU Mai was also amazing. The staff were very friendly and helped us with ordering. Will definitely come back again!

I’ve been on a personal quest to find the best XLB dumplings after discovering them for the first time some years ago… After trying endless places in Los Angeles when my favorite spot went downhill after the pandemic, I happened to find this place on my first trip to Europe and I was blown away by the quality. This is by far the singular best XLB dumpling I’ve had in my life. It’s perfectly savory and makes you feel like you’re having a childhood primary experience. The decor is cozy and gives you a feel like you’re eating at a chic alleyway spot in China. The service is top notch and I can’t recommend this place enough. 10/10 would recommend.
